Meet the Team
Nathan Scherer
Nathan Scherer is an innovator with 20+ years of experience in manufacturing, with the last couple of years being focused on advanced manufacturing tech and Industry 4.0 transformation. He is also working on a rural development project that will create a community within a community by strategically aligning the needs of the greater area with personal and professional development, entrepreneurship, collaboration, and recreation; in a walkable live, work, play environment.
Nathan serves on the board of the Noble County Economic Development Commission, and he is also a Town Council Member for the Town of Syracuse. Nathan founded and started his company, SEI Manufacturing, in 2004 and sold that company to Patrick Industries in March of 2020. He currently serves as the Director of Innovation for Patrick Industries.
Nathan is a graduate Wawasee High School and of Purdue University, a father of 4 and he has been married to his wife Lauren for over 15 years. He is passionate about his community and entrepreneurship and he spends much of his free time with his family and enjoying outdoor recreation.
Jeff Dyson
Jeff Dyson is a visionary and innovator with over 20 years of experience in sales and marketing with an emphasis on the web and e-commerce. As the VP of Marketing of a wholesale distribution company, Jeff was responsible for the print catalog, photography, video, trade shows, website, and interactive marketing. During that time, he helped launch a business on Amazon that went from startup to $1M in revenue in five years.
After selling the wholesale distribution company in 2019, Jeff invested in real estate with a business partner to create a rural development “community within a community”. This community looks to strategically aligning the needs of the area with personal and professional development, entrepreneurship, collaboration, and recreation; in a walkable live, work, play environment.
Jeff is the President of the Board of the Syracuse-Wawasee Chamber of Commerce, serves on the board of the Noble County Economic Development Commission, and a member of the Wawasee Community Engagement Committee. He is a graduate of Coventry High School in Rhode Island and attended Syracuse University and North Carolina State University. He has been married to his wife Nikki for over 21 years and has two children. He is passionate about improving his community and continuously works towards making Syracuse a better place for the next generation.
